Elizabeth A Clayton DO
Elizabeth graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990 and has worked full time as an osteopath eversince, initially in Hertfordshire and London. Whilst in London she worked for two years at the highly-acclaimed Osteopathic Centre for Children in Harley Street and also ran her own clinic in a London Sports Centre for 10 years. In 2001 Elizabeth moved to the West Country when she took over the cranial osteopathic practice at The Clinic of Complementary Medicine in The Avenue, Yeovil. In 2007 she moved with the rest of that team to new premises at Nine Springs Natural Health Centre on Hendford, Yeovil. In June 2017 Elizabeth stopped working in Yeovil and now works in Axminster at the Axminster Health & Wellbeing Centre, and also on the outskirts of Chardstock, Devon.
Elizabeth has a special interest in using the very gentle osteopathic techniques commonly known as 'cranial osteopathy' or 'cranial-sacral osteopathy'. These very gentle holds are applied to the whole body, NOT just the head, and are suitable for treating people of any age from newborn to the elderly. Elizabeth loves treating children and babies and in her experience finds that it is extremely helpful to release tension in babies' and children's bodies as young as possible.
Elizabeth qualified after four years' full-time training and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (this is a legal requirement if somebody wants to practice osteopathy). As a Registered Osteopath she completes a minimum of 30 hours Continuing Professional Development every year.
